John Edwards is a very impressive Presidential candidate

Vilsack is reportedly on the verge of quitting the race. (So says Salon.) I wonder who will pick up his supporters in Iowa.

A good question, especially since the reports were true. New thread on that here.

Funny, our manufacturing industries seem to be fine, overall.

You certainly have an interesting definition of 'owned by special interests.QUOTE]

Exactly which segments of the manufacturing industry in America (other than arms production) seem to be doing fine?

I’m going to assume you don’t know the details so here they are:

Fred Baron used to be a real good guy. He took on companies like Johns Manville when they lied to us about the dangers of asbestos. He made a lot of money taking Down Johns Manville and other companies like them and good for him. Then one day he ran out of bad companies and he started suing companies under strict product liability to get recoveries for people who got sick because these otherwise blameless companies put asbestos in their products based on stuff that people like Johns Manville told them; still between some company that engaged in commercial activity that harmed an innocent victim and the innocent victim, Baron was the good guy. Then one day he started running out of sick people, so he manufactured sick people by getting doctors to lie about how sick people were and he suddenly found hundreds of thousands of sick people in shopping mall parking lots, union halls, etc. He became a bad guy. He had become addicted to the money and he dropped his ethics to go from billionaire to multi billionaire.

Edwards doesn’t get a lot of his money from PACs or corporations, he gets them from individuals. Sounds good right? Well these individuals are all lawyers or work for lawyers. All of a sudden he was getting the maximum contribution from some guy that works in the mail room at a law firm. the majority of his money is coming from these sources. Fred Baron is Edwards’ campaign finance chair. Edwards is bought and paid for.

Don’t get me wrong. Other than this one unforgivable flaw, I prefer him to Hillary and I think that he is probably more electable than Obama. But we were going for the electable candidate last time and look where that got us.
