The Young Turks referred to Fetterman as “Diet MAGA.” That’s pretty creative if I say so myself.

So Fetterman is obviously a garbage person. But was he always like this, or did the stroke turn him this way?

No, not obviously as he voted with the Democrats 95% of the time. And your cite is not only paywalled, thus useless for most of us, but from a rather right wing biased source. No Democrat would trust the WSJ in an article about a Democratic politician.

Non paywall:

> One morning in June, three paralyzed military veterans in wheelchairs from rural Pennsylvania arrived at the office of Sen. John Fetterman for a long-awaited meeting to discuss legislation that would improve their care.
> Fetterman’s staff greeted them with bad news: The Pennsylvania Democrat had to cancel. He’d told his staff he may have eaten something bad and wasn’t feeling well, according to people familiar with the matter.
> Less than an hour after his staffers met with the veterans in his place, Fetterman walked into his office, showing no signs of illness. He had an appointment he didn’t want to miss, he told staff: an interview on Fox News to discuss Israel and the war in Iran.

> Fetterman keeps a light daily schedule, often refusing to meet with constituents and fellow lawmakers, or canceling at the last minute, records and interviews show.

> In April 2025, veteran Pennsylvania state lawmaker Anthony Hardy Williams brought a busload of constituents to Washington from Eastwick, a poorer, flood-prone neighborhood in Philadelphia, to meet with their representatives in Congress and discuss Trump administration cuts to a grant program that had helped the area.
> Fetterman was the only one who refused to meet with them, Williams said in an interview. At one point, they saw Fetterman walking the halls and yelled, but he didn’t acknowledge them, according to Williams. “He was available. He just chose not to meet with us,” Williams said.

Can’t wait for him to be primaried off the stage. What a useless piece of shit.

I call BS on that stat. Are you including non-controversial votes where both parties voted together? Let’s look at the most recent year, 2025: “Fetterman voted in support of President Trump and the Republican Party **26% of the time** across all Senate votes during 2025, the highest rate of any Senate Democrat. No other member of the Democratic caucus came close to that alignment rate.”\[1\]

From a January 2026 poll, his approval among PA Republicans is 73%, and his _disapproval_ among PA Democrats is 62%. Does that sound like someone who votes with Democrats on the issues important to them?

Oh come on. The WSJ is scored in the “middle or balanced bias” area of the popular chart. Yes it leans right, but it isn’t even in the “skews right” section. It’s reasonable to reject sources like the _Daily Caller_ or _OAN Network_ out of hand, but you need to be more specific about what you think isn’t factual with the WSJ.

A new Twitter account called “Fetterman Former Staffers” popped up today, and posted this:

> We’re a group of former campaign & Senate staffers for John Fetterman who are disgusted with what he’s become.
>
> If you were troubled by yesterday’s Wall Street Journal story…trust us, that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
>
> It’s even worse than you thought.

The NYT confirmed it was authentic with two former staff members. In a second post, the staffers said they’d be sharing more of Fetterman’s communications starting on September 14, “the day the Senate is back in session,” adding “let’s be honest, maybe the 15th: he’ll skip Monday’s votes.”

I’m skeptical of this “in ten days” announcement. If they had something substantial, why wait? Do they expect counteroffers from Fetterman, that will make it worth their while to refrain from revealing what they know?

It could be a complete nothingburger. But assuming they do have some actual dirt, there could be some valid reasons for the delay:

1. They are timing it for when Fetterman is around so journalists can confront him in person with the information, maximizing media coverage
2. They want to avoid the media dead zone around Labor Day
3. They just organized themselves today in response to the WSJ article, and it will take a little time for them all to gather past communications and agree on what to release and a schedule for it
4. It’s just a few former staffers at this point and they want some time to pull in other people
5. They are seeking legal counsel on what they can release

Those possibilities do make sense.

I suppose I’ve grown cynical over the Trumpite years. Too often we’ve seen people who have information that could actually make a difference, hold off sharing it until the most financially-advantageous time for themselves.

- **Voting Alignment:**

> Information from posts on X and web sources indicate that Fetterman largely votes in line with his Democratic colleagues. Reports suggest he votes with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer at a rate of around 90%, showing strong party alignment. This contradicts some perceptions of him as a maverick or independent voter within the Democratic Party.

> Complete voting record for Sen. John Fetterman. See how they voted on key bills, roll call votes, and voting patterns in the Senate.

> Senator Fetterman votes with the Democratic party **79%** of the time, breaking ranks more often than most.

Now see- My first cite says he votes with Schumer 90% of the time. But your cite says votes "Fetterman voted in support of President Trump and the Republican Party **26% of the time** :. That indicates Schumer must vote with the GOP some of the time.

Yes, there are several votes in the Senate with bipartisan support. It is misleading to include those as examples where Fetterman votes with Democrats, because it is equally valid to consider them as examples where he votes with Republicans. The key consideration is when he votes against the Democratic party on issues of importance, and he has a poor record there compared to other Democrats.

Everything else aside, I’m outraged that he blew off the funeral services for the three police officers who were ambushed and killed in the line of duty. They were from my local police department. One of those officers had attended my community’s homeowner’s association meeting the night before, on his own time, to talk with us about home security. I spoke with him myself. Less than 24 hours later he was dead. That incident shook a lot of people, and it was in the county where Fetterman grew up! He should have been there. For him to say “That’s not happening” was inexcusable.
