I had the most awful \*\*Bruno Mars \*\*earworm for two and a half days (and nights!) last week. I won’t even speak its name for fear of resuscitating it. Ran across it randomly years ago, and it regularly recurrs as an earworm even if I haven’t heard the song in months. ETA: It might just be my connection but I can’t get the video to play at all; give it time or try again later, it’s worth it 🙂 ---

It comes out of nowhere a few times a year and I’m not sure why. It’s been in my head this time for about a week now. The opening song for **Fresh Prince of Bel Air**. God please make it go away. ---

I was in the mountains for a bluegrass jam last weekend. We did _Wayfaring Stranger_ twice during the time I was there. Once home, I started doodling with a couple of variations on the autoharp. Unfortunately, the song doesn’t leave when the harp goes up, but accompanies me to work, where I find myself singing/humming it at odd moments. ---

One that keeps popping into my head is George Michaels’ _Faith_. Is it in some advert? I didn’t hate it, but didn’t love it and can’t imagine why it keeps popping into my head unless maybe I’m hearing it in on TV and not realizing it. ---

I’m scared. Over the past few weeks I had three major earworms, one after the other. The first one was the Rolling Stones’ “Gimme Shelter”; the second was Rage Against the Machine’s “Sleep Now in the Fire”; and now it’s Johmmy Cash’s “The Man Comes Around”. All excellent songs, to be sure, but thematically… well, is my subconscious trying to tell me something? Because I’m not sure I wasnt to hear it. ---
