John McCain says he's not a Maverick, never was one

Does this mean his quack doesn’t echo?

Actually, he is willing to cop to this part…

Prior to the 2000 primary, maybe.

Hey, if I’m a Born-Again Liberal, can I join the “Re-Birthers”? When’s the next rally? Do you have signs, or do I need to paint my own?

Clearly, this is good news for the McCain campaign.

Salon has a piece that basically argues that McCain’s maverick reputation comes from his history of being a dick-in-the-butter when he gets beaten in an election. When he got beaten by Bush in 2000, he made a policy of pissing on everything Bush did. But then he had to tack hard to the right to get the support of the base by 2008, and of course having lost the last election, for which he sacrificed every iota of his reputation for having courage, character, good sense, ect, and completely discredited in the eyes even the party he represented in the last election, there’s nothing left in his political life but to cock block anything Obama might try to accomplish.

Both Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab and Richard Reid were Mirandized after being taken into custody. I can’t tell if you’re being coy or something but McCain’s bill is in response to Mirandizing Abdulmutallab, as Republicans have tried to turn the near-terrorist attack into a partisan political issue any chance they can.

When confronted with the reality that under the Bush administration, Reid was Mirandized 4 times in 2 days including 5 minutes after being taken into custody, Republicans dropped their objections and apologized for being hypocritical douche bags. No, I’m just kidding. They introduced this bill.

I was referring more to battlefield captures, since there really aren’t very many suspects being arrested by civilian law enforcement personnel.

Moo!
