“Confirming a (SCOTUS) replacement before the election is considered in the interest of the national Republican party, so that it doesn’t become an issue for Dems to run on in every race,” Uh, confirming what will be a Torquemada light judge before the election does not lead that item to be forgotten when the election comes. Seems to be the same mentality as the politicians had about the court giving the Dred Scott decision. It is like President Buchanan thinking that ‘now that will settle the issue of slavery once and for all’… It did not work as he and others wanted. ---

Now they’ll be able to strike that latter issue from their list of concerns. ---

She voted to confirm Gorsuch and she voted for the nuclear option to allow Republicans to confirm him with a simple majority. SCOUTS nominees are well aware of the fact that they have to non-answer the question about _Roe_. ---

Didn’t Obama, who has beenout of the limelight since he left, say elections have consequences? Congress is broken. Getting a new Supreme court justice approved might come down to which party has the majority inthe Senatethese days. If this is the new normal, you can expect either party to force a vote before elections. Get used to it. I do not expect more than 3 democratic senators to vote for whomever Trump nominates. The roof will be raised once Ginsberg ( 86 in August ) or Breyer ( 80 this summer ) vacate their spot, either through natural cases or retirement. ---
