I just got a robocall from Mike Lumpkin, the only viable candidate for California’s 52nd Congressional District. I was glad to get their call, because I voted for him and forgot that his campaign needs big help in the face of Duncan Hunter (oops, I mean Duncan Hunter, Jr.)'s red tide. The message gave me their phone number and a chance to give them a call and ask what I could do for them tomorrow–and that, in turn, will give me something to do besides watch MSNBC and gnaw my fingers off. ---

The voting machines are sitting down there, next to the front desk, right now (with seals on them, of course). Did some flyer-hanger actually think that having actual voting machines in the lobby of the building where we live was too subtle for some people? And a flyer on the doorknob would accomplish what voting machines in the lobby could not? Heh, did the guy on the Clinton message give you directions to your polling place? That’s really cool that your polling place is actually in the lobby of your apartment complex. I’ve never heard of that, but it’s a really good idea. ---
