Cecil’s [column](http://www.straightdope.com/columns/read/374/did-john-wayne-die-of-cancer-caused-by-a-radioactive-movie-set) on John Wayne’s cancer was written in 1984. Anybody have updated statistics for the correlation of death/cancer affecting the cast and crew?

Just a bump, 'cause I’m curious about this myself!

I’ll send it on to **Cecil** and see what he thinks.

Out of curiosity, just how “hot” was the location? If John Wayne was photographed operating a Geiger counter on set, just what levels was he reading?
