You have to remember he was only a tough guy in his movies. He wrote letters of deferment in WWII and everyone raves on about what a big tough hero he was. I did like his westerns but just thinking about him in a war movie makes me want to vomit. I do like what he (supposidly) stood for. This country could use more people with the same ideas and values even if they are only Hollywood created like Wayne.
