Oh dear. It just started here. The opening consists of Steve Miller’s “Jungle Love” and clips of the family acting goofy… Ewwwwwww!
Worse than “The King Of Queens” theme sung by Billy Vera. I didn’t think it was possible!

I’ve tried to watch the show when nothing else was on in an attempt to figure out just why everyone does love Raymond.
I came to the conclusion that I, personally, do not love Raymond. I hated Seinfeld and every single character on that show, I don’t care if it was ‘witty’ or ‘subtle’ or ‘devastatingly funny’, I just didn’t like it. ELR struck me as a more home-like Seinfeld, only with a less funny and less charismatic star.
And that’s saying something.
Oy, I can’t even stand Romano’s standup! I’ve never been able to watch more than five minutes of that show without twitching so hard the channel changes out of sympathy.

What I’d like to know is _where are the kids?_
They must be raising themselves in their rooms… They show up for about 3 minutes every 10th episode…
I see the kids in my neighbourhood more than Raymond sees his own kids…
Then again, if I was a kid and had to put up with all the bitching and fighting going on between everyone on that show, I’d hide in my room til I went off to college too…

Heh. This is the ‘numer one comedy in America’, right? (That’s how it’s sold to us, anyway.) My title suggestion? _Nobody Loves Raymond And We Want It The Hell Off Our Screen Or At Least Back On Mid-Afternoon Saturday When There’s Only Infomercials On The Other Channels_. Granted it’s a little wordy, but work with me here!

Well, it’s like _Birth of a Nation_. The show basically invented the sitcom format and the structures and mainstays and formulas that still get used to day…which if you think about it should earn Lucy less Love, than a place in hell…

_Everybody Loves Raymond, if Raymond is a code word for Oral Sex_
It doesn’t even seem to me like the people on the show like Raymond.
The ONE redeeming quality of the show is that they keep the kids hidden. If they cooked one in an oven from time to time, the show would be a lot funnier.
As someone else said, I used to watch this too, and thought it was real funny, and then one day I was like, “what the hell am I thinking?”

I haven’t watched this show in years and years, so I could be wrong, but how about Cliff on **The Cosby Show**?
Re: Raymond’s kids
When they do show Raymond’s kids, they’re usually as horrible as their parents or grandparents. They had one episode that showed Ally as a lying little bully. Just like her grandfather.

I don’t love it, but it doesn’t bother me either. It should be called _Why the hell didn’t she marry Robert not Raymond?_
Raymond needs a good slap.
The only time anyone seems to enjoy anything is the Debra (Deborah)/Robert moments. Raymond needs shot cause he whinges far too often.
I do get the odd giggle from the programe though. Many of the moments with the Barrone seniors are classic.

You may be in the minority, but you’re not alone.
I haven’t seen the show in years, but it struck me over the course of the first several seasons that Deborah is the paragon of long-suffering and forbearance. _Every_ episode, Raymond does something incredibly thoughtless, selfish, and/or insulting to his wife, and _every_ episode, his mother (and sometimes father) pulls some manipulative, passive-agressive, humiliating power play on Deborah’s standing in her household (which Raymond naturally defends or stays neutral about), and Deborah has to deal with all this as well as raising the kids.
I’d be a “bitch” too if my husband was an unrelenting pussy and asshole almost every minute of every day. Every once in a while, Deborah would be humbled, but Raymond _never_ learns _anything_ about how to treat his wife better. He’s a jerkwad of the 1st degree. Hate the show and hate that its inexplicably popular (though I’m glad Brad Garrett wins awards because that way I can see him be hilarious accepting them without having to watch the show itself).
