# Jokes?

I’m just wondering…why was the yo momma jokes thread closed? They weren’t any worse than some other jokes I’ve read around here. I’ll provide links if you wish them. I’m not meaning to complain, just wondering for what reason yo momma jokes are unallowed at the Straight Dope. Thanks for the reply(if there are any).

Something tells me it might have been best if you just emailed Lynn rather than start a thread about it here.

I’d say, WAG here, that “yo momma” jokes are offensive or likely to be so.

Yep, “yo mamma” jokes are generally offensive, or tend to become so. We just don’t allow that sort of thing, ever since the old AOL days.

And, by the way, since this question was answered, I’m closing this. You really should have asked it in the Pit.
