Yarghh… I had better not lose the “lottery” we have to pick who gets this week off next year. It’s been painfully boring to babysit things that aren’t happening since the rest of the bank is away on holiday. The only phone call that’s come in on the work line was a robocall. At least I did manage to get next Monday off, so there’s a four-day weekend in my near future. ---

I survived conference call heck and am now at da cave. YAY!!! OYKW is on his way from the wilds of west Alabammy. I asked him if he was goin’ to his place or comin’ here. He said he’s comin’ here, he can deal with his place tomorrow and he wants to see me. 😃 I asked him if blts and fries sounded good for dindin. He agreed. Anything but ham or turkey. So blts and fries it is! ---

Back from the grand tour of granite! 😃 We went to 3 different suppliers and picked what we wanted at the second place. Since the 3rd place was in Glen Burnie, we went over to House of Tropicals to look at the fishies and stuff. But it was really crowded, so we didn’t hang around long. Stopped at Famous Dave’s for a late lunch, and now we’re home. Yay! But \*BOO \*on \*\*FCD \*\*- he was supposed to get 2 bottles of Sonny’s sweet BBQ sauce while in FL. He didn’t. Bummer. ☹ And this must be the week for older relatives to have issues. My MIL fainted/blacked out the other day and, obviously freaked everyone out - especially when she refused to let anyone call 911 (I’d have called anyway…) She saw her cardiologist today and he has no idea what happened - her heart monitor didn’t show anything weird. So she’s going to see her GP next week, we hope. She’s just a tad stubborn about things like that. :rolleyes: And that’s all the news from FairyChatLand. Still no chocolate love offerings on my porch. Youse guys have let me down mightily! 😛 ---

Something we dealt with on the bambilance on a regular basis was old folks with vasovagal syncope. The vasovagal nerve runs through the center of the chest and abdomen, and when it is stimulated, it causes the heart to slow down. One way is by pushing hard in the bathroom, and it was common to have to go pick up the old folks after they fainted and fell off the crapper. The fainting is usually not serious by itself, but I’ve seen a rather well busted noggin when the patient hit the sink on the way down. ---

Her cardiologist things she might have had a momentary drop in blood pressure or maybe her blood sugar was wonky, or it could have been TIA or, I suppose, aliens… She’s 81 - it could be any number of things, I guess. But her worry, apart from what is causing it, is breaking a bone or cracking her head. ---

That’s it… It can be more serious for her at her age, apart form the falls, and advice on that is beyond the scope of my knowledge. Glad it’s already being addressed. ---

I did get the can opener. I got the kind that cuts off the whole lid so you (I) won’t slice my fingers off. It took me a minute to figure out how to use it, but once I did it worked wonderfully! 😃 Bad part is I have to figure out a new way to drain tuna. I used to just push the cut lid into the can to squeeze out the juices. Slotted spoons just don’t cut it. My 3K insurance bill just bounced back through my account. Apparently I forgot to put a decimal point in when I paid it last Friday. I called the insurance people and alerted them to my stupidity and they said they wouldn’t charge me a returned check fee because I let them know I’m a doofus. I talked to the people at the bank today and they said it was about to go through by tomorrow morning. As soon as I got home I repaid the bill, remembering the oh-so-critical decimal point. :smack: I have a headache. I blame all the bags of need at irk. Wednesday can’t come fast enough.
