Juan Williams Fired from NPR

Wait, wait, I keep hearing about the need to amplify our war against Islam, and how us libruhls are blind to the threat it poses.
What you’re saying is that whenever someone expresses nervousness about the enemy, it’s because they’re seeking to engage in an open an honest discussion?
If find that implausible.

I apologize, but I’m not quite understanding the point. Yes, I think Juan Williams was trying to engage the audience and Bill O’Reilly on the level. Did you listen to the whole interview? He was basically attacking Bill O’Reilly for conflating Islam with terrorism by using a Timothy McVeigh-Christianity analogy.

What are the odds that Williams thought he could get a well-paying gig at Fox and decided this would be a nice way to get free advertising?

From the other side, what are the chances Fox (or someone on that side) actually paid Juan to “throw” the interview, to foster mistrust of NPR around election time?

Given that this guy has a history of making statements that were ill-advised given his chosen profession and employer, I find that doubtful.

Jesus. Wasn’t being fired punishment enough?

You take that back! Diane Rehm is a goddess! A somewhat gravelly-voiced goddess, BUT A GODDESS NONETHELESS!

Granted, she does compel me to avert my ears…

You think maybe he’s angling to replace Alan Colmes on a new incarnation of Hannity and His Bitch?

I don’t think Williams would be a good fit for that show. He doesn’t seem like the type to roll over like [sub]Colmes[/sub] did.

I only saw him on it a couple of time, cause I hate Hannity worse than gonorrhea, but it didn’t seem to me like he rolled over, just nobody paid him any attention, he’d point out where the bullshit was, and Hannity just kept on rolling like he didn’t say anything.

Frankly, I think he was just there because he so fits the stereotype of the pencil-neck liberal wonk to contrast with Hannity robust, virile, all-American bullet headed Saxon mother’s son schtick.

Is it wrong to imagine a scenario where a neck of Hannity’s dimensions might be seen as a real drawback, vis-à-vis strokes of la guillotine?

Just asking… purely hypothetical, a thought experiment…

No, because then the alternative is to turn the dogs on him.
