# Julie Andrews a porn star?

I am interested in debunking what I believe to be an urban legend. My brother swears that Julie Andrews (aka Mary Poppins, that nun from Sound of Music ect) recorded several pornographic films at one point in time. Of course, my brother hasn’t SEEN these films, but he swears his friend did.
Has anyone else ever even HEARD of this rumor before, or has anyone actually seen this film?

It sounds like a blown out of proportion version of Blake Edward’s movie S.O.B., about a director whose only chance to save his flop film is to convince its goody-goody star, Julie Andrews, to bare her breasts, thus making it a soft-core porno, sorta. Julie Andrews does display the goods in the movie, but is still a pretty far cry from a porn star.

Never heard it, and frankly it sounds crazy. Given how much porn is on the market, why wouldn’t something like this be common knowledge? Julie Andrews appeared nude in a few movies, but no one would describe them as porn.
Also, there was a porn star named “Juliet Anderson”. A stretch, but it might give rise to confusion.

Well, she starred in S.O.B., a film by her husband (Blake Edwards) in which she flashed her boobies, but that was well after the musicals (and sort of a comment on them), and it’s definitely not porn. There are several “celebrity porn” sites that promise nude photos of almost everyone female, including Ms. Andrews, but they’re members-only sites, and I’m not joining just to see pictures of Mary Poppins _deshabille_ and find out where they come from.
A google search turned up nothing else, and since she’s been performing in public her entire life (started with her family, soloed at the Hippodrome at 12 years old, signed her first Broadway contract at 19), I doubt that she’s ever had time. I doubt that your brother has the slightest idea how old she is, or how much stage work she’s done. I suspect, in short, that he’s a credulous git.

Not likely. Check [her career](http://www.julieandrews.co.uk/intro.htm) - she was born in 1935; Broadway debut in 1954 in _The Boy Friend_; _My Fair Lady_ in 1956; _Camelot_ in 1960; and the movie _Mary Poppins_ in 1964. My apologies; I seem to have misunderstood.
When I think “porn,” I think “hardcore pornography.” The only celebrity I can think of who, after becoming quite famous, had a hardcore pornographic film bob to the surface to embarrass him/her was Sylvester Stallone.
I don’t really regard \*Red Shoe Diaries \* as pornography; hell, the stuff debuted on cable television. I guess it does qualify as softcore.
I knew that Marilyn Monroe and Joan Crawford had posed for some nude photos. I guess those do qualify as porn, now that I think about it… but, to my knowledge, neither of these worthies ever actually had sex with anyone on camera. In fact, in the photo shoots in question, no one else was VISIBLE on camera (unlike Vanessa Williams’ infamous Penthouse shoot, in which she has a female “friend” in the shoot with her…).
Was not aware of Julie Andrews’ granddaughter, and sure’s hell wasn’t aware of Jackie Chan. Jeez, what do his fans think?

There are indeed porn films (not features, but short, silent, and shot on 16mm) floating around in which the lead performers look like Streisand and Connors (no, not together!); but that’s not to say they really are those two people.
William Poundstone’s book _Biggest Secrets_ has a chapter titled “Blue Movies of the Famous” that discusses the alleged Streisand porn film.

In the early 90s I read a story in SPIN Magazine about a well-known Hollywood director (Stanley Kubrick if I recall correctly) who wanted to make the first big budget porn film using respected Hollywood actors. After months of negotiations, Julie Andrews and Ringo Starr had signed on to star in the film but eventually everything came crashing down and no scenes were shot. So there’s an almost Julie Andrews porn film.
