The transfer case on the truck went kablooey this morning. That’s $1200, plus the cost of getting it home (because naturally, it had to die while my husband was on a short road trip, and he has to be home by Sunday, and the shop can’t touch it until Tuesday.) So I’ll be without wheels next week while Tony’s in Atlanta. And this probably kills our trip to New Orleans next month, to audition for Jeopardy and to see the two oldest kids. Dammit. Also, whatever this rash is (it looks and feels like mosquito bites, but the itchy bumps are popping up independently - I was watching last night) is driving me straight up the wall. ---

He is willing to be flexible on the hours, but since this is mostly a two-person operation, it would also affect his schedule. We agreed to try 8-4pm and see how that works out first. ---

I’m not sure if Wikipedia or linguistics are to blame, but I read articles for reference as I’m working on my constructed language and I’m left going ‘…were there any actual words that meant things in that?’ I’m seriously lacking in the required vocabulary. ---

I walked out and went back to the reception area, where the receptionist was helping another client. I hear…approaching from the back hallway that connects the rooms…“Stupid bitch done come up in here with no paperwork…I ain’t doiin’ no blood draw without no paperwork…” Let me add I am deathly afraid of needles. I am a difficult stick and pretty much have one vein that can be hit - and it’s not visible. I’m almost in tears at this point as I flee upstairs to the clinic. I explain to the receptionist there what has happened and tell her there is NO possible way I am letting that woman near me with a sharp object after that. She took pity on me and had one of the nurses do my blood draw. **Anaamika** , I will get a picture of Captain Morgan the next time I visit or housesit. ETA: I am horrified by the shooting at the movie theater in Denver, but what in the world was a 1-year-old doing at a midnight movie? I am sorry for the injury to the child but damnitall that kind of parent is one of the reasons I no longer go to movie theaters. ---

I guess it’s time to go see the doctor… yuck. ---
