OK, I guess I meant my original question. So, I guess my argument is the term without context is misogynistic. I understand the concept of claiming words to remove the negative power from them and to be empowered by claiming them. I misunderstood @DPRK’s intention and it went right the hell over my head. Many of their comments have seemed oddly worded (to me anyway) and I missed context. I really do apologize to @DPRK. ---

And it’s also possible to discuss certain loaded words without disparaging people, as this thread is doing. But casual usage of these terms aren’t considered okay on this board, at least not anymore. There has been an attempt to curb misogyny on the board in the past handful of years, and the terms you brought up here are part of that. I say all that as someone who is not a moderator, and has no authority on this board, but simply as an observation of someone who has been around for more than a decade and observed (and participated in) discussions around those terms, and has seen enforcement of rules prohibiting their usage. > [@Sylvanz](#): > > Probably should have put it in ATMB. Appreciated; I do not think we actually disagree on anything. The answer to your question seems to be that there is not any actual censorship per se [that I have noticed; you may want to get an official answer], but there is a general “don’t be a jerk” rule, which certainly includes offhand misogyny and using insulting language to offend people. ---

I have no problem discussing words that are found offensive. I won’t spell them out (oh and thanks for the tip on how to use the stars without screwing up formatting). I was under the impression that those words were allowed to be used as insults here. When I saw the protest over welsh I thought, “OK, so how about the words I’m concerned with?” So it seems I was mistaken all along. Sooo, with a red face I will quote the late great Gilda Radner, “Never Mind.” 😊 🫢 ---

No, they aren’t allowed to be used as insults. I’ve recently moderated someone for using the c word as an insult, despite his not having spelling it out. On the other hand, last time we had this discussion, another woman pointed out that she might say (and I’m paraphrasing), “I must be allergic to something in that brand of tampons, it makes my c\_\_\_ itch like all getout.” That would not be an insult, and I agree with her that it wouldn’t be misogynous. I’m not spelling it here, since you’ve said you don’t like to see the word, but I would be comfortable reading it and spelling it, and I wouldn’t moderate that statement, said sincerely. ---

You really can spell it out how you like. I’m not quite _that_ sensitive. That usage would make me cringe a bit, but it’s her undercarriage i.e. vagina 😉 to call what she chooses. I really just misunderstood/did not read the bbq explanation carefully enough. I really feel like a twit now. ---

I don’t mind typing it. I just don’t want to use it if you know what I mean. Typing for discussion purposes fine. Calling someone that or talking about a woman’s parts by using it no just no. Unless, as stated above, it’s a woman referring to her own anatomy. The spoiler would work, that is if I could figure out how to use it. 😉 ---

@Sylvanz , you can insert spoiler tags manually. Type a bracket: “[”, the word “spoiler”, the close bracket “]”. Then tpye out whatever text you wish to hide. Close it off with open bracket, slash “/”, “spoiler”, and close bracket, and the text will be blurred when posted. Like this: quote this post to see the formatting in use. ---
