There’s a local organization called NaborForce which I’m signed up for. I’ve already used them to change overhead light bulbs, take me shopping for plants & supplies for my deck garden, and help me de-clutter. I never thought of checking with the fire department. ---

In at least some states, detectors with replaceable batteries are now illegal. They noisily commit suicide 10 years after you first turn them on and your response it go go buy a new detector. Which will almost certainly be a different make and model, so you’ll need to remove the baseplate from the wall and attach the new one, not simply pop off the old detector and pop on the new one. ---

Next time use something more like a large Gatorade bottle with a wide mouth. And put the cap back on when you’re done. Just as easy to kick over, but not nearly as hard to clean up. ---

(Such as going to a bank of elevators at a casino and going into each elevator to send it to the top floor, because the poster was scared of elevators and needed to test them, and was confronted by a casino employee and asked to stop doing that.) I wonder if this consumption of recreational drugs has caused some sort of damage over time. Not saying this to be mean or snarky, but I sincerely think it’s a possibility. ---

I highly doubt that. I have never overindulged in substances. It’s one of the few areas in my life I practice temperance. Didn’t even drink until my mid 20s. Never passed out or puked from intoxication. Didn’t try weed until my early 30s. I don’t consume a lot of that often. No hard drugs at all, unless you include huffing paint. I once huffed some paint when I was 15 when we were helping my grandma move. I started punching cars and mailboxes. I freaked out about it afterwards and never huffed again. As I said above, I get really engrossed in things some times. Being under the influence just threw a little more gasoline into the fire. ---

I get that way when I’m writing, though I do actually use the bathroom and occasionally feed myself. I no longer have the luxury of spending 12 hours a day writing because I have a young child. And a job. When I do find time for it, though, I get into trouble pretty quickly. BOOM! Half a day disappears. Or, oh, right, I was gonna start the kid’s dinner thirty minutes ago. Really hard to break out of it. ---
