Poor Lucy! I hope the medicine helps! We had to have our dog put down in 2012 due to back issues that didn’t respond to medication, and it’s a terrible decision to have to make. (Although in his case, surgery wasn’t really an option - osteosarcoma.) I’m at peace with letting him go, though. He was a great dog, and deserved a family that loved him too much to see him suffer. And you’re a great family for Lucy, because you’re willing to make decisions based on her well-being, even if they’re tough for you emotionally. (((Hugs.))) That out of the way? Rant time. [Jeff Bradstreet](http://www.quackwatch.com/11Ind/bradstreet.html), another of those autism huckster “doctors” apparently committed suicide last week. Naturally, the conspiracy-theorist loons among his acolytes want to “get to the bottom” of “what really happened.” Sorry, the fucker who tortured helpless children, via everything from unnecessary lab tests to chelation therapy shot himself. Good riddance. And the acolytes are raising money to fund an investigation - thousands of dollars so far. I betcha they’ll discover that “they” shot poor Jeffey, and covered it up. “They” might be Big Pharma, or maybe the Guvmint, or maybe the Illuminati. I seldom wish active harm to other human beings, but I hope that the “Revolutionary” Dr. Bradstreet starts a trend among his peers. ---

I made a post on G-d And Gays. This is based on the strong feeling that I actually know more about the New Testament than she does. I’m positive I know more about The Old. I’m hoping Mrs T will read my post and reconsider her position. ---

Well, **Doc Cathode** , good luck with that. I’m sure you’re familiar with the rubric about how you can’t reason someone out of an opinion that they didn’t use reason to arrive at. Or something like that. Anyway, it can’t hurt and maybe it will work. My only mini-rant today is that the entire time I was at the gym all the news stations were broadcasting “cops chase the killers” full time, with no breaks for other news. I guess it’s a litmus test for what Americans are interested in. Ptui. ---

Nobody IRL except for my husband, our housemates, and a coworker, said anything about it. Meanwhile all my other friends were deep into the festivities. I just find that very curious. I do have a small group of conservative Christians on my FL there so I wouldn’t expect them to say anything right now but the others? Either they’re ignoring the whole thing or they’re secretly against it and don’t want to start anything. That strikes me as very strange becayse a lot of them are much younger than me…??? ---

Maybe they’re downplaying their happiness about it for the benefit of others who follow them whom they don’t wish to antagonize? For instance, I don’t usually post a status on my FB feed at all. I’ll gladly and gleefully post on political-type threads that others of my friends have started, but since I also don’t click “Share” as a general rule, there are probably family members who are unaware that I’m a pro-choice, Obama-lovin’, ObamaCARE-supportin’, SSM-likin’ librul. ---

I am not a very good ranter, but this morning my wonderful daughter (BloodyL) came out to friends and family on Facebook. She made the mistake of being blinded by the support and rainbows I guess, not expecting her aunt to let it be known that, “I HATE FAGS”. Fucking carni trash whore with various babydaddies and her constant reminders that Jesus got her off the meth has the nerve to say such a hateful thing to my daughter, this amazing person who works hard and studies hard and generally makes life more pleasant for everyone she meets. I am not a violent person. I am passive and quiet and shy, but I have had to hold back rage to the point of tearing up and shaking all day knowing that this woman would hurt my daughter who only wants her family’s love and respect. Oh my GOD how I want to make that sorry piece of shit feel my wrath. But like my daughter I shall rise above and try to remember not everyone is capable of the love and compassion my daughter is brimming over with. I have always been proud of her but today it’s overflowing. Deep breaths. Happy thoughts. ---

Sitting here in a hotel room by myself feeling like a reject. Hubby and I drove two hours to a gathering of his high school friends at one of their homes. It’s the third year we’ve done this, sort of a smaller, casual version of a high school reunion, about ten people plus spouses and kids. Nice people. Except it was so hot in their house. And humid. Even with a fan going, I was standing there red faced and sweating. Trying to follow the conversation but it was so loud that I couldn’t hear much. And nobody would sit down. My legs were starting to ache but if I sat down then I’d be staring at everyone’s crotches. I’ve heard that extroverts gain energy from being social. But I’m amazed at how they can ignore physical discomfort like that for hours at a time. I told hubby to explain my absence as having a headache if anyone asked and I slipped out. It just wasn’t any fun. ☹ ---

Even more beautiful is seeing those rainbowed pics in the comments for those silly “one man + one woman” pics my cousins keep posting. One of those rainbowed pics belonged to a person who had been friended by a cousin; he proceeded to share a little infographic showing the various biblical definitions of marriage (I’m sure you’ve seen it – the one showing that marriage is between a man and his wife, or a man and his slaves, or a man and his concubines, or a man and his wife’s slaves…) **JcWoman** , keeping the thermostat in “budget” mode when that many guests are present is just plain bad manners, IMO. I am annoyed with the houseguests’ dining habits. It’s more than a smidge irritating to never know whether I’m cooking for six people, versus eight, or for those folks to jump in the kitchen to cook themselves something while I’m cooking dinner. It’s especially vexatious when houseguests feed the little ones when dinner is fifteen minutes away. Aaaargh! I don’t know - I really think that Mom believes that it’s less trouble for me if she prepares her own food, and that she tells her daughter the same. But truly, if I’m cooking for six already, two more makes no difference. And if I’m in the kitchen cooking? Please get out of my way! It’s a small kitchen, and I don’t share that space well with many people (because most folks have no clue how to safely and efficiently share a kitchen space. Not their faults, just one of those things.) ---
