And, yes, you are right I should have said ' **local** superintendent of schools, but I thought that should have been obvious that’s what was being talked about from **LavenderBlues’s** posts. I guess I should have made accommodations for the reading comprehension impaired. ---

Whenever I let someone go in front of me in a queue, it’s the person who was directly behind me. That doesn’t delay the rest of the people in the queue at all. It would never occur to me to offer my place to someone who wasn’t even in the queue to start with. Do other people do that? ---

Strange. That seems really bizarre to me. We left England 6 years ago and pretty much everywhere had chip readers there for credit and/or debit cards (and had them for a few years before we left). We moved to Canada and thought it was kinda backward that they didn’t use them here - 6 years ago. In the meantime everyone in Canada has switched over to chip readers and I haven’t swiped a card in I can’t remember how long. Oh wait, I remember; it was the last time I was in the States. ---

When I moved to the UK a few years ago, I had cards with a stripe but no chip, which caused no end of confusion and dismay amongst the local merchants. They just couldn’t handle the concept. And some of their magnetic stripe readers didn’t work with the cards either, which was fun. ---

Strange. I think its hilarious that all these big box stores can’t get their chip readers to work. Meanwhile, the ones at the head shop down the street from me work perfectly. ---

IE has installed its new update (IE 11), after rebooting my computer twice to do it. I don’t like it. The dialogue that says “Do you want to make Internet Explorer your default browser” just has “yes” or “no” buttons- it also needs one that says “Fuck you”. ---

Out of pain meds. Just about out of PTO. No callback from the spine clinic, ‘all lines busy’ when I tried to call them. Crippling pain from the left side of my spine/neck up through my left ear and just above/forward of it. Just about knocked me out a few minutes ago. Actually slept well though, woke up with my sheets sideways (don’t ask me) and cat laying next to me on her back with legs splayed out and head over the side of the bed. Stayed that way while I showered. Yeah Maggie, I’d like to have stayed that way too, but I had to go to work. ☹ ---

I’m getting sick of “this is on you”, meaning “this unfortunate outcome is your fault.” It was overused on _Sons of Anarchy_ (because the main characters, let’s be honest, were a bunch of criminal sociopaths eager to blame others for messes they themselves created) and now it’s popping up all over and almost always inaccurately.
