What’s bugging me? I had a friggin’ stroke. A small one, no permanent damage, but it was a crappy way to start the month. ---

Was driving behind this car with three teenager-young adults when the kid in the passenger side took it upon themselves to chuck a water bottle over their car, hitting the roof of an oncoming car. The woman in the oncoming car almost swerved out of her lane as the bottle exploded all over her car while everyone in the other car yukked it up. About a mile up the road they turned onto a side street and pulled over, I slowed down rolled down my window and gave them an earful. What a bunch of ASSHOLES!!! They could have seriously caused an accident! Look, I get the throw the beer bottle at a mailbox late at night. Many of us have been there. Stupid, but you can’t kill a mailbox. Lobbing a projectile at another car? Not cool dude. Furthermore thank goodness these nitwits didn’t hit some hillbilly with a gun rack and a pickup with a V8! ---

I’m glad you’re ok and hope the month gets better, quickly. Did you know you were having a stroke in time to get to the ER and get the drugs they give? Since I am in the “stroke age-group” I am interested in details! ---

Bureaucracy, man. My husband and I run a small business; I do all the accounting. We have to collect and pay GST (Goods and Services Tax) for our services. Canada Revenue, in their infinite wisdom, has decreed that GST returns for businesses are due June 15th of the year. Your payment, however, is due April 30th. I ran afoul of that last year - I went to submit our GST return by the due date, and we were already a month and a half in arrears. Sigh. Okay, make a note for next year - the due date is the due date, but not really. Fast forward to this year - I’ve got my ducks in a row, and I have made our payment by April 30th, in spite of not having to do our GST return until June 15th. Today I submitted our GST return electronically. The last question is, “Are you going to make a payment in the next seven days? Yes or No/Don’t know.” Since everyone has to pay the GST we owe a month and a half before it is due, how about giving us an option for, “I already paid it, you simpering idiots?” Sorry, lost my head there for a second - I had a faint hope of something government related making sense. ---
