Nope, that time it was what I meant to say. The dynamo theory was proposed in 1919, in a culture where dynamoes were a commonplace & breeder reactors were unknown. Now we have someone proposing a reactor. In each case, we’re imagining something understandable by our present science.
Really, I think whatever’s at Earth’s core may well be something we’ve never thought of.
Except you still need some mechanism for a breeder reactor to produce a magnetic field, and that method is likely to end up being something that looks an awful lot like a dynamo, with or without the reactor.
