Is it just me? When hearing his name in the news again I think what an A hole… Can’t imagine anyone in Hollywood hiring him again. ---

His first name is actually “Jussie.” Anyway, even with the conviction being overturned, it does seem like his career is, if not over, at least seriously damaged. He didn’t have a single acting role from 2019 (when the initial incident occurred) until this year, when he [starred in a movie](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt29352944/?ref_=nm_flmg_job_1_cdt_t_1) which he also directed and co-wrote, and which has terrible reviews on IMDB (though it’s hard to say how much of that is the quality of the film itself, versus public disdain for him). ---

The overturning of his conviction is an embarrassment for prosecutors but not remotely a vindication for Smollett. Maybe he can produce a successful podcast or something. ---

Exactly correct. But if he were Trump, he’d be screaming from the rooftops that this constitutes “COMPLETE AND TOTAL VINDICATION” for him. I’m not sure if Smollett is brazen enough to try this tack and pull it off, though. ---

And on that basis I agree with the decision. There was an attempt to fix the bad actions of the original prosecutor but they should have known it was too late.
