Maybe they bought that alcohol for the starving children in Africa.
Didn’t think of that, did ya?

Are you kidding? After that OP? Sheesh, what a drama queen…
My last two cars have told me when a light goes out- headlight, tail light, brake light, daytime running light, whatever. It’s very handy. And the car-before-this-one wasn’t even new- it was a 2000.
I went and got a quote from Geico after seeing all the ads that said they would save me oodles of money.
Not only could they not save me any money, they wanted more than DOUBLE what I currently pay.
I have my insurance through AAA. Geico is some lying-ass dogs.
Just saying, is all.
Would a cute corporate lizard mascot lie to me?
Totally. I never got free pie and chips!
When balancing the importance of going after traffic violators versus murderers, I always try to keep in mind that I am probably more likely to be killed in a traffic accident than murdered. I also know more people who have died in traffic accidents than who have been murdered. So perhaps cops who are going after traffic violators instead of murderers DO have their priorities straight.
and bastards. CT law gives them one year for payouts, they waited 364 days when my car was stolen and the shell was found two weeks later. But this isn’t a bitch about Geico thread, I just do it every chance I get.
Maybe FL should not have canceled their vehicle inspection laws.
This. Take your business elsewhere.
I am insured with USAA, so I have never paid the lowest rates, but I do get outstanding service. Also, they pay dividends every year they make a profit, which is most years. Every year, I generally get a check back for $50-250.
Second that about USAA. From what I’ve heard about other insurance companies, it must be dismal putting up with them. I’ve been with USAA for fifty six years - and have lost track of the times they have gone way above and beyond in their service. They once (recently) voluntarily reduced my deductible on the repair from a hit and run accident without me even hinting that this would be nice.
Only problem, you or your parents have got to be military veterans before you can use them.
They don’t exactly say that. They say that people who switched saved $$$. Well, duh. The people who didn’t save money, didn’t switch.
Not trying to pick nits, I have just long thought that phrasing was both obviously true and misleading at the same time. As a former marketing type, I salute them. As a (former) customer, I say “screw you guys.”
Actually, they’re not even that honest. They say “average savings reported by new customers who reported savings.”
That means all the people who switched because their old policy was cancelled or whatever and had to accept a worse rate don’t count.
Another reason never to drive in Florida. For a headlight-out here in the “Tax me. I own a car and am therefore rich as Warren Buffett State” they give warning tickets that give you 7 days to bring the car to a police station and show a cop that the light now works.$58 is robbery!
BTW, EJsGirl, Several years ago I was hit by a USAA-insured driver and their customer care ROCKS! Best treatment I’ve ever had from an ins. co.!
If that annoying gecko wasn’t constantly touting geico.com as the Second Coming, I’d say the OP was overly sensitive, but I’ve had them turn down my daughter’s “oldie but a goodie” Oldsmobile for a road service rider. State Farm doesn’t cherry pick on this coverage and their rates are competitive with Geico.
BTW, run from Metro Life’s auto ins. division, too. They cancelled me, citing “false reporting” on my application because I forgot to include a NOT AT FAULT (sideswiping) incident. No agent before or since has given a rat’s ass about NAF. In fact THEIR agent didn’t even know that Corporate was interested in NAF, so he never asked.
Damn right, nooooooooooooooooo.
If there is one thing people would agree is wrong, it’s probably going to be more along the lines of, say, rape, genocide, and murder. But puppies are cuter than starving kids, I guess.
You’re welcome to protest puppy mills, and I am fine with you spending your time doing so. But just because it’s your chosen issue and you feel strongly about it doesn’t mean that it’s the or even an important issue.
