> I was able to locate an old high school friend of mine though one of those alumni sites. In high school, Scott and I were practically joined at the hip, but we drifted apart when we went to different universities. I was very pleased to find him listed on the alumni site, and we have been writing back and forth ever since.

I’m really excited to be seeing him again after all this time, but it is going to be STRANGE as well. In my mind, he is still 17 years old. Now he is a 30 year old doctor, married, and father to a 3 year old son.

I’m glad to see a happier post from you than the “telling someone off thread”.

Have fun tomorrow (today?). And don’t feel self concious about your life. What you do takes a very special person to do–the financial rewards are minimal, you deal with a lot of crappy people, and you do what you do out of a genuine desire to help people. He’s a doctor–surely he can relate to the last two.

You can also tell him you’re adored by the teeming millions. 🙂 🙂

Well, I met with my friend Scott today. He brought along his wife and son, so we had lunch at Chuck E. Cheese. That way his son could go off and play and we could have a normal conversation at the same time. It was wonderful to see him again. He didn’t look much different than he did in high school, and he said I hadn’t changed either. He and his wife make a great couple and his son was very cute. (BIG compliment, coming from Ms. I Hate Kids.) It made me happy to see him so happy, but at the same time it made me ache over my own “singleness.” Scott is heading back up north tomorrow, so it may be another 14 years before I see him again. Seeing old friends is so emotional.

Hi! I was going to email you when you changed usernames (and emails), but, well, then I didn’t.

That can’t be true. I bet you look stunning, and don’t want to excite us hormone slaves too much. So instead you just tell us about it. _Thanks_.

**AVERAGE?!** I’ve seen your pic girl, and “average” is no where close. Babalicious comes to mind. “Take me” hot also works. Average. Sheesh girl. And when a guy says “You look great,” the proper response is “Thank you.”

Count me in!

Isn’t it interesting the tricks the mind plays on us? I went to my 10 yr high school reunion last year. Similar feelings of meeting up with the old crowd. Some didn’t look much different, others were very different. It was amazing to see them as adults. Also gave me a bit more perspective on myself now, too.

I hear you on that one. I know how it feels to be playing catch up with an old friend and have nothing in the romantic department to share. Kinda makes you feel a little insignificant. But that’s not the end all-be all to existence. Life is everything that you do and are, not just the having/lack of having romantic partners.

You said it.

So, are you going to Vegas? I’ll be expecting to see you model that bikini. If you feel too self-conscious, I’ll accept a private showing. 😉

Alas, I will not be making the Vegas meeting, as I am already committed to working that holiday and I would not have enough vacation time saved up anyway. Maybe next time.
