Instead, went to the Straight Dope main page, clicked on “Boards” and the SDMB opened up. Don’t know if it was just a timing issue - that I tried the second time when the server came back up? ---

Strange thing is that when I tried to log in on my smartphone, either using the browser or Tapatalk, I got a message saying that I had used up my login attempts and that I would have to wait 15 minutes to try again. I didn’t get that message on my computer. ---
