# Just got a small time writing offer

A friend of my mom’s introduced me to a guy who fancies himself a rapper/writer/creative genius. Apparently my family and friends have been talking up me up to this guy and he’s interested in having me do some writing for a small local comic that he’s trying to put together.

I’ve never actually done anything on a professional level yet, so, uh, what should I do?

What’s typical payment for a small time gig like this? Is it paid upfront or is it based on how well the comic does?

I’m super pumped that I’m actually going to be able to do something. Even if I don’t get any money from it, it’s something that I can point back to. “See? I’ve done shit.”

And if I do stand to earn even a single dollar from this, I officially become a professional writer. Jesus on a stick. I’m excited!
