Just in time for grilling season, both of my propane tanks are empty...

I’ll see if they have the right adaptor and let you know the cost, OK?

Thanks, that would be very cool of you. I just spoke with Customer Service at Weber, and I was told that nobody makes propane tanks with quick disconnect fittings any more, and that nobody recertifies them either.

So what I would have to do is buy and install another hose/regulator assembly (which I would really prefer to avoid doing).

I’m on my way to the farm store.

Ta. I’ve got a guy locally who’s consulting with his boss about whether they even can recertify my tank to go on the Weber Genesis 1000, and if so, how much it would set me back. I expect a phone call within the hour.

$18.43 including tax. Figure another $5 for priority mail.

If you want it, it can be in the mail tomorrow. I can take PayPal. :o

Thanks for doing the legwork, GaryM, but while the quick disconnect end on that looks right, I need the other end to look like this.

The search continues!

No you don’t! The adaptor has the left hand threads that match those on the inside of the tank valve.

This is an exchange tank. Note the square external righthand threads and the fine internal lefthand threads. I use these tanks with both kinds of fittings.

Oh, now I see. Do the knurled bands on the body of the adapter mean I can finger-tighten it and won’t need a pliers of some type to adequately tighten the threads so they don’t leak?

Yes!
