# Just saw Gordon Lightfoot on Tv..His looks sure don't fit his voice..

Well, he _is_ a little old man. He’s 63.

I had the good fortune to go to the Carter-Barron Ampitheater outside of Washington D.C. in the mid-60’s to see Peter/Paul/Mary. Some long-haired hippy came out and opened for them. He played some song which seemed to go on forever(Canadian Railroad Trilogy). He weren’t too bad. Made a mental note to find out more about this guy at the time.

The other thing that happened was, after listening to my heroes sing, they brought out this _ultimate_ dweeb who had written a song for them- _Leaving on a jet plane_. John Denver. Who could have predicted that he would be leaving life later on a lighter-than-air plane?
