The thing is, what the movie needed was less bogus “historical accuracy” and more myth. It would have done it good if it has stuck closer to Homer.

I don’t think the movie’s problems came from failing to stick to the source. I thought it was decent myself.

How about Aishwarya Rai? She was the female lead in the current Bride and Prejudice and is jawdroppingly gorgeous. She had presence, dignity and I think she would have been a great choice.

Dammit, I came to this thread intending to nominate her. Roger Ebert Describes Rai as “the first and second most beautiful women in the world,” and it’s hard to gainsay that.
