Just spit-ballin' here, but nuclear weapons vs. hurricanes?

Cold is hard. Opposite direction is easy. Just start on the other side of the equator. So we set one from each hemisphere on a collision course towards the equator.

Hurricane Fight!! Of course the three rules of the Hurricane Fight Club are:1) There are no rules.
2) However much energy you think it takes to stage a hurricane fight, add another zero & consult the rules again.
3) Stand a long ways back to watch. This is not a good place for mere mortals.
In all seriousness some interesting things happen when hurricanes interact: Fujiwhara effect - Wikipedia

Here you go. Cold, and it looks like it spins the opposite direction.

Only question is, is can we get them in bulk?

The Freakonomics guys publicized a low-tech hurricane prevention method. It was a way to take warm surface water (the thing providing energy to grow hurricanes) and drive it down to the depths. It’s another “in theory this should work” idea, but the practicalities (e.g. durability) would probably kill it. Also, I wonder what the ecological impact would be from a system that lowers ocean surface temperature over a wide area.

[jedi] this is not the heat dissipation device you are looking for [/jedi]
