# just testing

So, Earl, do you think John Montagu _invented_ the sandwich, or was it really _discovered_.  
Perhaps by accident, a dropped tray of food in a midnight snack run in a darkened kitchen, a hurried piling of things on the tray to keep the dog from getting to it, and voila.  
Or perhaps a freak of nature? Like one of those kitchen dustdevils that haunt the Sandwich Islands and rearrange everything into piles?  
Or perhaps it was supernatural, and a kitchen ghost of an ancestor with poor table manners created it to miff his widdow?  
Or perhaps, like the pyramids, it was dropped of by UFOs that wanted to show off by imparting a little technical knowledge as they flew past? (They must have considered people really primitive to have not mastered the sandwich on their own.)
