Hey there Mercury, welcome! 🙂 You can’t use HTML code. You have to use vB code. For instructions on how to use it, just click on the link just a little ways up from the “Post Reply” bar on the “Reply to Topic” screen. It gives examples of the different ways to use it. ---

Well, you don’t _have_ to use vB code, unless you want [links](http://www.straightdope.com), **bold** , [sup]superscript[/sup], or other such fanciness. There’s a number of folks who have made it to 1000+ posts without ever doing any of this. ---
