The answer is so simple- more damn safety pins! Seriously, as a home sewer, this is the best sewing learning you get. When you screw it up, and gotta find a way to make it wearable. She’s already learned to try it on before attaching the waistband, after all. Tell her if she’s a big enough girl to run a sewing machine, she’s big enough to work out a damn solution! It’s not like her future depends on this, it’s just a damn skirt! And by the way, skirts are one of the easiest things to sew. No blaming Mom, it ain’t her skirt! ---
