The _NY Times_ says it’s actually kinda funny, and it _is_ only a half-hour, so I’m going to give it a try. From today’s review: “The mockery is overt and good-natured, a Cold Comfort Farm for the MTV generation . . . once their cellphones and credit cards are replaced by cowbells and timecards, they come closer to Cher Horowitz, the fictional heroine of Clueless, than the repellent shopoholic heroines of MTV’s latest reality show, Rich Girls . . . The tone is studiously tongue-in-cheek.” ---

I have to confess to being halfway tempted to watch. Altus, Arkansas, where the golden girls get dumped off, is a place I know reasonably well, and my _alma mater_ was actually founded there in 1876 before moving to the more cosmopolitan environs of Conway, Arkansas in 1890. But I do have this unbroken streak of never having deliberately watched a minute of any of the reality TV shows, so I’ll probably pass. ---

Hey **rackensack** you went to smart kids school, haha! I went up I40 to the school with the dumb team name… Anyway, I’m a little leery of how they’ll portray the locals. Altus, while a small town, isn’t exactly a remote, isolated hickdom (at least by southern standards, anyway). It’s less than an hour from Ft. Smith, which means they go to the mall, etc., just like everybody else. Clarksville is nearby and has a college. Plus Weidekehr(sp?) Wine is based there and they have a nice (for Arkansas) restaurant there. So, on the show, if you see people walking around with a straw in their teeth and wearing Lil Abner outfits, know it’s BS… ---

According to them, it could have been worse. I’m going to watch, just for the heck of it. I am going to pass on this. Eventhough I, too, live not far from Altus, I can’t bring myself to watch because I fear that the portrayal of Arkansans as a whole will not be nice. From what I’ve read, PH doesn’t have the most flattering assessment of folks she think are beneath her (re: everyone). I’d rather not get pissed off by a bratty, spoiled rich girl. I have actual contributions to humanity to contemplate. Oh…BMOC from UCA and UoA hanging around, eh?..Poor little me and my _alma mater_ up in Jonesboro. 😃 FB ---

Just saw it. Is that all thye can do? Laugh? so it seems The place looked nice. I wouldn’t have wanted to skin the chicken myself. It went too fast. It was lots of commercials and nothing much happened. Like the clothes, though. ---

It wasn’t as good as I expected.(Did i really say that?) Nicole is more annoying than Paris, and man, does she have a real potty mouth. I almost like Paris. I wonder how much of this stupidity they display is just an act. Time will tell. ---
