In the staff report about spiders under toilet seats, staff member Doug provided a little gem of humor that caused me to nearly spill my water:

Except that I don’t believe that for a second. I’ve tried every pesticide known to arachnid and still have spiders in my bathroom. Mostly in the ceiling and floor corners, but I know for a fact that spiders are not aware that toilets are “dirty”, so they have no cause to avoid them per se.

**Concensus** , spiders in the actual bathroom are not disputed. But poisonous spiders under the toilet seat that supposedly killed several people is what is being discussed in the staff report.
