I think Frank is a really brilliant creation, and well handled by the actor, costumer, and director. He’s very, very creepy, perhaps all the more so because there’s also something quite silly about the whole idea.
There is a room full of people producing wormhole trails and only Donnie can see them. TPoTT says that the Manipulated Dead may reveal wormhole trails to the Living Receiver. But I just made it up. Right.
It’s the interpretation of the director of the movie, Lamia. This is what Richard Kelly has said is what he intends us to draw from the film.
Oh, and I’ll use Occam’s Razor all I like against anyone who uses it to say that Donnie is just a loony making it all up in his head when they’ve already admitted the Manipulated Living remembered the events of the tangent universe after the fact.
Gosh Evil Death, you’re right. You’re completely right about everything. I, and everyone else who dared have their own ideas about the film Donnie Darko or how it might possibly be interpreted were all completely wrong – there is obviously only one correct answer, and that is yours and yours alone. There’s no point in anyone discussing the matter any further. What fools we were to think there might be more than one way to look at things!
