There wasn’t a single character in The Glades that wasn’t a smug irresponsible smart-arse. After ten minutes I didn’t care about anybody, and wasn’t even sure there was a story worth following. They are trying way too hard to be charming, and completely missing the boat at every turn. Quite disappointing. ---

Totally agree. I watched the pilot but won’t be tuning in for the next eppy. There’s nothing likable about the lead character at all. There isn’t even a “love to hate” factor. The plot was pretty weak too. I forgave Kiele Sanchez for the Nikki and Paolo mess when I saw _The Perfect Getaway_. She stole my heart in that movie and I want her out of this dreck. You can have a lead character that’s boorish and crude, yet sometimes downright lovable. See: Johnson, Brenda Leigh of _The Closer_. That’s how it’s done. ---

I haven’t watched it (and won’t for sure now). I got the impression the guy was a dick from the ads alone, glad to see my shallow rush to judgment was valid. ---

I thought the pilot was pretty good actually. Sure, the lead character wasn’t likable, but likable characters are a dime a dozen in TV, I’d much rather have an interesting character and I thought this one was. Good plot too with an unexpected ending. The second episode wasn’t great storywise but I’m going to give the show a chance and see where it goes. ---

The show didn’t blow me away, but it was good enough to warrant coming back. I’m wondering … would a real golf nut use a club as his preferred tool to poke around swamps and forests as such? It seems a little counterintuitive, although I suppose he could have selected one that was really old and worn. So, when are we figuring the show plays the husband-gets-out-of-prison card? If it does it any earlier than the season finale, it’ll look pretty desperate. ---

I haven’t watched it, if just because the ads alone turned me off. Especially this one: “with this heat, it only makes the body stink worse.” Cut to an attractive blond woman in a swimsuit with an injury on her neck. My reaction was “if the body stinks, there’s no way it still looks like THAT.” CSI at least attempted to make their corpses all bloated and rotten. In this show it appears that attractive people don’t decompose after they die. ---

I haven’t watched it yet, tho I have it on tivo. I’m slightly hesitant, having been turned off by the horrible “we’re just like Dexter, we even have a bloody orange!” marketing.
