I grew up in Cleveland, OH. In about 1990 a fad started where people put giant Cheif Wahoo heads on sticks on their yards. At one point almost every house on my street had one - and they leave em up year round. i cringe ---

I swear, I had _nothing to do_ with this: NEW CITY, N.Y. (AP) – An 8-foot-tall, inflatable decoration in the form of the character from Dr. Seuss’ “How The Grinch Stole Christmas” disappeared from a yard in New City over the weekend. Police say there have been several thefts of oversized, inflatable ornaments shaped like popular characters this season. Clarkstown police Sgt. Harry Baumann said eight to 10 such decorations - which come in models including a snowman, Santa Claus, a polar bear and Winnie the Pooh - have been taken since Dec. 1. “They’re light, easy to deflate and easy to take,” he told The Journal News. ---
