No real plot. No advancement of any real storyline. Just fighting. Hot, animated comic book women fighting. I was happy. (Also Nightwing cameo!)

That, and Wonder Woman actually got an “oh shit! We’re screwed” moment when she popped up. Daddy like! 😃

I like girl on girl action as much as the next guy, but I watch this show with my kid.

I am convinced that comic writers/fans are just total pervs.

In the end, when BC took her jacket off, my son thought she was getting nude. He even said “why are they showing her boobies?”

Not cool.

Why are the producers responsible for your son’s inability to recognize cartoon boobies?

It was a pretty solid episode.

The only thing that really got to me was the idea that the villains had designed a device capable of mind controlling the heroes through their communicators and they decided to put it to use staging WWE style brawls.

I don’t know. If I were a supervillain and I had my primary opponents helpless, I’d like to think that I would come up with a better (by which I mean more fatal) plan, even if I really needed money. 😃

So…you didn’t have a problem with all of the violence?

Just like a true red blooded American. Blood and violence are OK as long as no nudity is shown.

I also saw felt the “uh-oh” moment when WW showed up, because by all rights she should be easily able to splatter the other four women.

But the funniest bits in the ep were Question’s discovery of the 32nd flavour and his response to “what are you wearing?”

The mind-control premise was weak, though.

I saw it as being more or less the same as the 7 Soldiers last week: highlight the ones who don’t get as much of the spotlight and show why they can play with the big boys. That and just some fun brawling. 😃

So you got no problem with guys beating the crap out of each other (a la the Teen Titans episode when the male heroes fought in the tournament), but when girls start doing it its’ the end of the world?

Most kids aren’t as savvy about these things as we give them credit for. Most kids would see the that episode and think, “Whoa! That was cool!” rather than “Whoa! Boobs!” Personally, I’m a little worried that your son jumped straight to the sexual interpretation of Canary taking off her coat. Wonder where he gets that from?

**Amp** , try reading **mm** ’s location before jerking that knee, k?
Anyway, good episode. I saw that DeMattis was one of the writers, but missed the other. Was it Griffith? I’m also not familiar with that verison of Sonar.

Favorite line: And we were just starting to get along.

In fairness to amp, my location means North of Mexico (Texas).

To answer your question, yes I think violence is easier to explain than sex.

As for why my kid’s mind went to boobies, I suggest that is how overt and suggestive the scene was.

Look, I am not some right wing prude.

I have a nice porn collection, but it is well hidden!

I just don’t see why the Justice League needs to be sexually suggestive. It didn’t add anything to the show. It isn’t on in Adult Swim and is clearly targeted at little guys.

Are you kidding? Of course it does. It adds a level that makes the show more enjoyable to adults who may have collected comics with the characters decades earlier. Were it bland and saccharine, it’d be just another crappy half-hour of kidvid.

Right, that doesn’t mean that it can’t have some treats for the bigger guys. I remember watching Bugs Bunny cartoons growing up. Looking back on them I realize how much of the stuff went right over my head as it was meant for grown-ups. Same with the Simpsons.

I’m sorry, I’m just not seeing the “sexually suggestive” just because it was girls fighting. If they had done the same show with say Batman, Green Arrow, Mr. Terrific, and Supes they would have been the same amount grunting and sweating and whatnot. Is it hot to watch two chicks fight? Sure, for us big kids, but I’m telling you, the kiddies just saw cool fights.

I found my Dad’s small porn collection when I was 6. Didn’t say anything to him. He didn’t figure out until I was around 20.

I doubt it’s _that_ well hid. 😃

Agreed. That was my favorite part of the episode. Although I did like the “oh, crap!” moment when Wonder Woman appeared in the arena.

Other than that, meh. Not one of the better eps, IMHO.

I like Easter Egg jokes. But those are a bit more subtle.

It wasn’t the girl fighting that bothered me (I thought it was pathetic, but not overt). It was the way she took off her jacket at the end wearing a low cut nightie looking thing.

Surely, you thought that was suggestive.

You mean her normal outfit which she’s worn in the show and in the comics? The outfit’s designed to be sexy, of course, but its’ just her outfit. Not gonna be changing that anytime soon. Next you’ll tell Wonder Woman to put on some pants.

And don’t call me Shirley.

I might have found the removing of the jacket suggestive if the circumstances were different (if the girls were lounging somewhere during down time), but in context it wasn’t sexy – it was just getting down to business. Plus, that’s her normal costume, not some kind of trashy (trashier) lingerie or anything.

Indeed. The proper time for such complaints was 1947, when the character first appeared in a costume identical to the modern version.

So the real complaint isn’t that modern comic writers and fans are pervs, but that their grandparents were, too. Shocking.
