I remember seeing an interview with one of the actors (with Radcliffe maybe?) where he said that in England, celebrities aren’t treated the same as in the US. It’s possible to have a semi-normal life and work in movies. So I guess there are more people who will treat them normal instead of worshiping everything they say and do. ---

I actually wonder if the kid’s being smart, and has someone else managing his money for him. He is also only 19, so it’s possible a lot of his money is in trust until he turns 21 or something. Though the low level drugs he’s doing do make me wonder if it’s all a setup for image. He can both seem like a rebel for doing it, but also have it not seem so bad if that backfires. Still, I guess it could be the first steps of the spiral for someone who has previously been on the straight and narrow. ---

When he was said to be dragracing through his neighborhood in California, it was reported that he refused to talk to the cops when they came to his door. It made me wonder “You can do that?” and wonder what other rights you have I wasn’t aware of. Are Florida cops just less impressed than LA cops? ---

They think all of this – the house egging, the Florida scrape, the assault – is a calculated move to give him street cred now that he’s stopped going platinum. (Although I’m not sure how much “street cred” an egging is good for.) ---
