I’m another atheist, and I like Christmas. It’s really not hard to take the Christ out of Christmas, and I like what’s left: a holiday that you use to spend time with your family.

And that sums up the “holiday” issue. To the best of my knowledge, there’s only one major religion with a major holiday at this time of year, and it’s all about **getting** stuff (in practice, anyway).

I prefer my religion’s minor holiday and its main observances of burning things.
