Harris is only 2 years older than my daughter. Had we lived in a different neighborhood, they could have overlapped in HS. ---

Barack Obama was the first President younger than me, by 10 years. Both Bill Clinton and George Bush were 5 or 6 years my senior. Though I was only a kid when JFK was elected, I remember what a novelty it was to have a President who was only 43, had two very small children and a young attractive wife as First Lady. Compare John and Jackie Kennedy to the craggy, gray-haired husbands of Mamie Eisenhower, Bess Truman and Eleanor Roosevelt and you’ll see why the youthful Kennedys enamored the public so much. ---
