I’ve heard rationale before, but it makes no sense at all. It supposes that god punishes souls by incarnating them as humans, but every once in a while gives a few people who are set to launch a “do over” because they have some ethereal winning raffle ticket. Why would anyone worship such a random god? ---

Hey I am not religious at all but in defense of **Kanicbird** ’s religion, I would bet that she is just a complete crazy loon and that her religion is not really that fucked up. Actually everytime someone responds to \*\*Kanicbird \*\*I suspect that Baby Jesus weeps. ---

Those kinds of people always seem very special to me. I mean, I have the sins of my father? Later on, he goes on to say/imply that the reason God punishes the children is (partly) because it hurts the father. Well, no. My father, once he found out I was a girl, abandoned me completely, and never looked back. He’s dead now but when he was alive, he wouldn’t even know something happened to me, let alone be hurt by it. ---

In fairness to kanicbird, she is saying that the rule that “the kid inherits the sins of the father” is how god handled things before jesus came. Therefore, the fact that this isn’t true anymore is part of the good news of Jaysus Kerist! Hurray! Of course, Jesus is (and is also the son of) the very god that had the “kids inherit the sins of the father” rule in the first place, so any claims of new management are specious at best. ---

I believe in karma of a sort, in that if you are consistently bitter, angry, and mean and cruel to people around you, you _will_ get only bitterness, anger, meanness and cruelty back. But the way my aunt believes it, is - she’s had a very rough life, so it is all because of all of the sins in her past life, so that means she doesn’t have to do anything in this life but suffer quietly. So she is an enabler to my real mom, she lets people walk all over her and then moans and bitches about how ill-treated she is, etc., etc. Whereas I want to say - take some goddamn responsibility for your own happiness. I think that means that on a moral level it’s sort of equivalent to those scientists in _Carnosaur_ (worst movie ever!) who were using some sort of IVF-ish process to implant evil dinosaur embros into the wombs of expectant mothers. As opposed to, say, a rapist. ---

(Of course, the Catholic Church says she and Joseph never did the nasty even AFTER Jesus was born.
