I agree it’s a silly name, but in this and similar threads I don’t understand why some people get so upset about what other people name their kids. I especially don’t understand when there’s no chance the complainer will ever meet or interact in any way with the child. On those occasions when someone with a strange name becomes part of my life, for instance by becoming a co-worker, then I quickly forget the strangeness of the name as I start dealing with him or her as a person on a daily basis. Nor do I understand the issue about teasing in school. First of all, school is only a short part of someone’s life. Second, anybody’s name can be the source of teasing, not just a strange or unusual one. I have the most ordinary first name ever and my name was the source of teasing for a few years in elementary school. ---

I’m not trying to hijack a thread which is chiefly about all of the other many ways Kanye West is terrible, but just for the record there is far from complete consensus that Kanye is some sort of musical genius. I think he stands out as a hack even in a genre of music where most of the notables are sort of hacks. ---
