I want to celebrate the “retirement” of Rove, but it just does not ring true for me. he has done his “thing” before - whisper campaigns, smears, push polls, etc and slunk off, only to reappear again. I think all this is just a bit of convenience for himself. Bush is done. he’s finishing up his second term, can’t run again, and there’s nothing left for Rove to do with him at this point. Rove may get involved in some smear campaign against Hillary Clinton if she gets the Dem nomination (at least that’s my prediction) and by not being officially tied to the White House, that will give everyone a bit of “plausabile deniability”. But, just like the boil on you ass that keeps coming back, I doubt we’ve seen the last of Rove. You have to drive a stake through the heart, set the corpse out in full sunlight, chop off the head, fill the mouth with garlic, and then burn whatever is left. ---

Shave off the the small amount of hair that’s left, 2. Lose about 80 pounds, 3. Start referring to himself as the Vexin’ Texan, 4. Get a little plastic surgery to attain that reptilian look, 5. Polish up on a contrived, southern drawl accent, 6. Team up and marry a snide, monotone Democrat 10 years his junior, 7. Do the Sunday morning public relations talk show circuit. ---

Who was the guy who helped Bush 1.0 smear his way into office, only to express deep regrets for the things he’d done on his deathbed a year or so later? Maybe Rove’s got some kind of serious health problem and isn’t long for this world. ---
