I always refer to her as Doll Eyes. Two eyes that have nothing behind them. Like a doll has. She’s a bit scary in that way. Others have made this observation. For me, it has always stuck. Beg your pardon if anyone else in this topic has expressed the same thought. ---

In Paul Simon’s “You Can Call Me Al” he makes reference to a “roly-poly little bat-faced girl”. I did not know what that meant until I saw Karoline Leavitt. ---

I’ll go you one better (not to pick on the almost dear departed, but why not?). In one of John D. MacDonald’s mysteries, Travis McGee is on the trail of serial killers who lure aging Mr. Lonelyhearts onto cruise ships carrying their life savings. They’re under the illusion that they’re fleeing with their girlfriends to start a new life in a tropical paradise, but it ends badly for them. McGee works a sting on one of the seductresses, who unleashes a string of vicious profanity from her “horror-hole of a mouth”. Based on the grotesque lies Leavitt has told, that’s a fair description of her too. ---

TIL that it’s “bat-faced” girl and not “fat-faced”. I concur with your observation (no offense to bats intended). On a similar note, I didn’t really understand what “piggy eyed” means until Trump. ---

To be clear, the reason to avoid attacks on Steven Cheung’s weight isn’t because he doesn’t deserve it and we should be nice to him. Him, Leavitt, and the entire gang do not deserve any grace. But attacking his weight is not just an attack on him, and I do feel bad for the nice people who feel shitty about themselves when being overweight is fair game for ridicule. ---

Both roly poly AND bat faced. I rarely hear that song nowadays but when I do, an image of her pops into my mind. And it’s not a pleasant memory. She was not a nice person. ---

This just occurred to me this morning. She reminds me of “Chatty Cathy.” Anyone old enough will remember those insufferable dolls that talked when you pulled her string. That’s Karoline. Pull the string in her butt and she’ll say exactly what she’s programmed to say. ---
