After months and months of rumours, seems that the royals finally [have a new member](http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-20586343) to look forward too. If all goes well, the little bundle of cells that exists right now will one day be the monarch of the U.K. and her Commonwealth Realms. So…names? May I suggest ‘Ralph’ if it’s a boy. ---

There’s an excellent chance this baby (especially if female) will be the British monarch at the end of the 21st century, I mention just for the heck of it. ---

I for one will continue to support the British monarchy for as long as they continue to give us extra Bank Holidays. ETA: No! No “Diana”! That’s a surefire way to screw up the kid (even more than being in the royal family does anyway). Gotta be “Elizabeth”. Or “Pippa”. 🙂 ---

“The duchess was admitted Monday to King Edward VII Hospital in Central London with hyperemesis gravidarum (or severe morning sickness), according to a release from the palace.” Poor Kate, that’s an awful feeling. The good news it that it is generally a positive sign in terms of high pregnancy hormones and a healthy baby. But it sucks for the woman and can last the whole pregnancy. ---

I had hyperemesis when I was seven months along. It’s just awful. I spent two weeks in the hospital on IV’s crying and praying. Poor Kate. Name predictions: Boy: George Philip Charles after Grandma Elizabeth’s beloved father, William’s grandpa and the current Prince of Wales. Girl: Caroline Diana Elizabeth after Kate’s mom, Princesss Di and Grandma Betty. ---

Assuming she gives birth to twins, can you imagine how the second born (by one minute or something) will feel? And that first born had better watch out when climbing that jungle gym in the backyard with their sibling holding a vat of motor oil, recently applied to the upper parts of the apparatus. I think the boy’s name will be: Jay-Z Lennon Tupac The girl’s name will be: Adele Madonna Pink There will also be a royal scandal when child(ren) get multiple tattoos at age 14 and marry their same-sex partner at age 18. ---

I’ve never heard of morning sickness so bad that you have to be admitted to a hospital. Sounds miserable. A co-worker said it could be a sign of twins. ---

Morbid question: if Elizabeth, Charles, and William were to all die before the baby was born, I assume he/she get skipped in the line of succession and Harry becomes king. But suppose the new child is a day old and the three people in front all kick the royal bucket- could there be an infant monarch? ---
