I **totally** agree with you.

Just one. It doesn’t matter if it’s a yelled “compliment” or a yelled insult - I don’t want any part of either from a stranger hanging out of a car.

As for how “sinister” it is for strangers to always be staring at you (most especially, your breasts), “sinister” is not really the right word, but it isn’t fun. It makes you feel self-conscious, uncomfortable, awkward and like you’d really appreciate it if they’d just quit it already. It’s not completely harmless, either - “Here’s a reminder that you are just a piece of meat to me, not a human being.”

Humiliation? Maybe. But I think it mostly has to do with some people having zero tact or class.

Well, it’s all going to depend on what’s said, how it’s said and even where it’s said.

I dunno. I’ve seen some pretty offensive shit over the years that was clearly intended to humiliate the women it was aimed at. For the record, I’m NOT talking about some passing remark made in a well-known meat market (disco, bar, etc.), for example, or even on the street, where the woman always has the option of just walking away.

Sorry if I’m getting off topic. Kate Upton’s boobs are lovely and she can do with them whatever she pleases.🙂

_Ain’t nobody’s business but her own…_

I appreciate beautiful women (including my wife) as much as the next guy and I think if you’re staring long enough that the lady notices, or if you’re being so obvious like turning your head when they pass, then it’s rude as hell. It possible to admire people you find attractive without looking like a horn dog.

I can sympathize. My baby sister was a small woiman with big boobs, and it caused her not inconsiderable physical discomfort at times, not to mention that her cup size made it more difficult for her to be taken seriously on a professional level.

Comparing a 12-year-old girl to Dolly Parton, now or in the 70s, was inappropriately sexualizing.

If a gay guy commented on your 12 year old son’s tight butt and constantly compared him to a gay porn star, would you think that was harmless fun?

Just as a data point, not to refute anything, is my experience as a seventh grader. I had a paper route that took me along the city streets of the small town where I grew up on my bicycle. I was the most childish looking 12-year-old imaginable. I didn’t get boobs for years (I didn’t even wear a bra all the time in college; nothing to cover).

Yet I was whistled at by men in cars frequently as I rode my bike along delivering papers. There were no giant boobs. No womanly looking girl that someone might be confused about and whistle. I was a little girl on a bike and still they hung out the windows and whistled and hooted.

I have to say, since I’ve been pregnant and suddenly acquired knockers nuclear, it has gotten _gross_ around here. I’ve always had more than my share of inappropriate attention and uncomfortable conversations because I’m a public librarian and if you’re under 60 and female at a public desk you learn to live with it. Part of the job. But now? _So gross_.

And I’m obviously _pregnant_! Clearly! There’s no confusion about it, trust me! I can’t imagine what it’s like for the “is this an E or a DDD or what?” crowd every day, if being in a clearly off the market state still gets me all this crap. It’s awful!

While I certainly agree that it’s wildly inappropriate for an adult to be commenting on a teen/tween’s physical assets, I don’t think the rhetorical equivalent of Dolly Parton is gay porn star.

Eh. There are no doubt hundreds of thousands of women who have similar figures too. Maybe even millions. Kate Upton is undoubtedly hot, but her modeling success probably has as much to do with luck as with looks. (And connections- her uncle is a Congressman after all, actually used to be my congressman).

Yes, if anyone has looked at the SI swimsuit issue lately, they will have noticed it’s rapidly becoming the SI\* swimsuit bottoms\* issue, with hardly any attempt to contain anything on top, Og be praised 😉

And I’m sure there’s a bunch of aspiring models out there who wish they had her problems. Miss Kate is welcome to collect the money and make wise investments, so she can eventually get off the stage and put on something more supportive and protective and give \*them \*a shot at the big time.
