Its almost a sure thing that the House will move it to the Senate again (And only 2 Democrats are needed to pass it normally) and without nuclear option … ---

What problem does mandatory sentencing solve? Is there some reason to believe the current system is especially light on this sort of crime, or is this just an easy way to score political points? ---

If it prevents illegal aliens who are criminals from coming back for at least 5 years then why not? It should be recalled that Kate would not have been murdered by this animal had the law been in force. I think it’s rather difficult to argue against that. ---
