And though she may have had her image relegated to the corner of this issue, she did, in fact, get an 8 page tribute in it (which is 2 more than the cover girl got). So this time at least, I’m willing to cut them some slack. ---

On the tribute tribute thread (begun by Eve) to Katharine Hepburn that was right after her death, someone – some very sensitive someone – posted these words: _My, she was yar._ That is the most appropriate tribute to her that I have read. Yes, I know the source of the quote. It’s from _The Philadelphia Story_ and it was her line. But, whoever you are, when I read that, I almost bit through my bottom lip. It was perfect and I meant to tell you at the time. ---

Well, here it is, August . . . Bob Hope’s got his _People_ cover, but I still don’t see that “tribute issue” to Katharine Hepburn on the newsstands . . . I repeat, in dismay and disdain, _Katharine Hepburn doesn’t rate a People cover?!_ ---

I sure haven’t seen it . . . Maybe all the rabid Katharine Hepburn fans in NY have cleared the newsstands of 'em. If I do see it I’ll take a look at it, don’t know if I’d _buy_ it—is it any good, really? I mean, if it was writen by _People_ staffers . . . How much did it cost? ---

I had two of the Minions of **Sauron** with me and while one was trying to pull the display of Oreos into the buggy the other was determined to find a quarter to buy something out of the bubble gum machine. I just glanced at it but it did have some nice pictures. I will let you know when I get it this weekend how it looks and if it is any good. ---

**whiteboy** , it’s her fucking **job**. She’s a researcher (well, that’s one of the many hats she wears), and has written numerous books about “stars of yesteryear”, such as Kay Kendall. You should be so lucky, to get paid for what you love to do. ---

I find it rather amazing the _People_ is capable of evoking such emotions. The most powerful response it has ever drawn from me is, “nice rack”! Typically my response is, “eh”. ---

Maybe she should realize not everyone gives a fuck about the same things she does, and its not a tradgedy if some dead chick isn’t on a list of Pop Culture Icons.
