Oh, I forgot to add that in the Pop Icons thread, I was _joking_ with another poster about Lillian Russell being “mad ghetto fab” and Ruth Etting “laying down sicc beats.” Being whooshed can indeed be “annoying.” ---

I know, I just saw it tonight, too, Eve, and I thought "Why, perhaps I’ll just buy a copy and mail it on up to my favorite NY doyenne of classic film, but then I noticed the price. Not that you’re not worth $11, Eve. Also, I don’t know why I further specified the geographic limitations of my favorites, as if I also had a silent film biographer in St Louis, Charlotte, and San Jose. You’re my favorite doyenne of such, anywhere. This reminds me somewhat of Bill Hurt’s wonderful monologue introduction of Glenn Close when she was the guest host on SNL. He kept qualifying, and qualifying, and qualifying his rating of her talent. ---
